School Information
Welcome to Alberta Smith Elementary
Our History
Alberta Smith Elementary School opened it’s doors on Sept. 7, 1994. Our school was named after Alberta F. Smith. Miss Smith attended Stoney Creek School and finished high school as valedictorian at age 15. She attended Westhampton College, UVA, and when she decided to be a teacher, she went to James Madison University.
For 44 years she taught, guided, and grew to care for the children and community of Ettrick Elementary School. Spending 36 of those years as Principal, she watched the children develop into adulthood and become parents themselves.
We thank Miss Smith for all of her service and dedication to Chesterfield County Public Schools!
